Hypertext-Topia

May 8, 2008

I’ve completed my paper version of my Hypertext project and have begun work on my power point presentation only to find myself choosing from an endless possability of options and directions.  I would like to know what approach others are taking so that I am not on the wrong track.  If anyone has some insight and info they can share I would appreciate it,  call me anytime 803-840-5081  Vic.

Create a game

May 8, 2008

Last week in class we discussed how games are put together and were allowed to put our own personal spin on a classic game such as Chess.  My team decided to turn the board diagonally and strategically place pawns and pieces where it would resemble a battlefield.  No more would you have to preserve your troops, this game we designed was meant to be bloody all the way through till you reached the king.  We kept that one essential of the original game, where no king shall be slaign,  the original format in which the king must be check mated was kept per order of our teacher.  A wealth of feedback was given by our classmates who got to participate first hand at our creation.  It went fairly smoothly because we didn’t take to much away from the game and yet we still had a new look at it.  More or less, we discovered that creating a game is a hard process, Not only do you have to come up with something creative, but the replay value of it must be a hit in order for it to be a success.

A French connection

April 24, 2008

A few years ago when my Ftaher was still alive he had 2 friends visit from Paris.  They stayed at our house for several days and toured the upper east coast of America together.  Just recently because of this web-blog, that individual found me and just got back In Touch with me.  Crazy how this whole internet keeps us around long enough to find eachother…Keeping in touch.

Keeping in touch

April 24, 2008

The words keeping in touch have a lot of meanings to me, the one that sticks out the most would be that we’re all one touch away from eachother.  The internet and cell phones make keeping in touch with people very easy now a days.  However it all gets lost in translation when you add in the little ( LOL, or the brb, or the w/e)  Short hand for computer language has taken a new spin and people are coming up with new and innovative ways of communicating with eachother.  Right now I am keeping in touch with the rest of my class by sharing my views on Keeping in touch.  All this madness stems from a long lost friend that I’ve recently made contact with, however, he will be spending a few years behind prison bars, nonetheless we kept in touch.  The irony of this all is now we will have to revert to using paper and pencil to communicate.

THis clip was taken in the Indian Ocean last year while I was serving in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).  Mind you a few days before this I was on a fishing boat and had a 90 pound Yellow Fin Tuna bit in half by a Shark.  So needless to say, if you give me a camera and give me a challenge I’ll do it for the sake of NECrazy Boat jump

The John Boyle Breakdown

February 21, 2008

The John Boyle Company has a main hub of operations located in New Britain Ct, just across town on the upper east side.  When you enter this facility you are immediately taken back by a  swaray of choices to make, ranging from  discount prices, color tones,  flooring and carperting needs all the way up to industrial size spray pumps.   Attached to the store front is a warehouse encompassing the size of a highschool gymnasium, with shelves upon shelves of  your whos who of painting supplies and paint gadgets.  Each shelf, row and wall is labeled and marked with a series of numbers and alphabets.  No; its not an Algebra class, these numbers and letters supply valuable information to the saleperson and the consumer.

Throughout a normal workday 10 to 20 contractors will come in the store with a list of their needs and be able to direct themselves to the appropriate isle and shelf to pick up their order.  In the rear of the building a garage door that opens the entire height of the building opens for easy pickup and deliveries.   Every shelf in the store and warehouse is easily moveable and rearrangeable for quick accessability with forklifts and pallet jacks.

Within the wherehouse there lay catacombs of offices that ensure products are ordered on a steady in and outflow  for the companies operation.  Soon more space will be available for an entire upgradeof shelves that will be the grounds for a new tracking system.

I’m a Myspace/Youtube Whore

February 13, 2008

In todays world of self proclaimed producers and comics, I jumped right in and took advantage of soliciting myself out on the web just for amusement.  Every chance we get, we try new and different ways to express ourselves, one being the internet.  You can literally be across the globe in seconds, all by the click of a mouse and insert of a link.  Enjoy…

It is such a great experience when you turn on your console and see a pop-up that lets you know who in your gaming circuit of friends is on-line.  Not only can you chat, instant message, share videos and even music, you can even join in on a game together and take on new worlds and battle bigger badder Villains in a Co-Op situation.  Our on-line technology has metamorphosed into this beast of never ending and ever growing possibilities.  Are you connected?….Life’s too short…PLAY!!!!!

I would like to thank the thousands of haters out there that didn’t believe the NY Giants could win the superbowl.  Throughout the madness and mayhem of tv coverage and overhead angles, my cell phone was blowing up with text messages until the final quarter….that is when the lights went out for New Englnad and every replay camera in the world couldn’t help them salvage their perfect season.  So a toast to my fellow Giants fans, now we could talk all the SH_T we want. P.S. there is supposed to be a I where the blank is between the SH and the T.  Ok I got to go.
